The Course and the Environment

The course is a par 34 (2215 m - 2422 yds) managed by the Golf Club Roncegno Valsugana. The course winds along the Larganza and Brenta Vecchio streams, sometimes through woods at the bottom of the valley, and sometimes along vineyards and orchards; it fascinates every player who must make good use of all the irons in his bag.

The facility also includes a driving range, putting green and pitching green and is completed by six tennis courts in green set, a five-a-side football field in synthetic grass, a multipurpose basketball/volleyball court and a playground, all served by a large parking lot.Among the services, a bar with a terrace, a large meeting room, comfortable changing rooms with showers and a bag deposit room.A few meters from the Golf Club is the biotope "Palude di Roncegno" on the western bank of the Chiavona river, directly accessible from the Valsugana bike path.

The main features of this reserve are the constant presence of water and the existence of one of the last but most important riparian woods on the valley floor of the Autonomous Province of Trento. The holes of the golf course find their common denominator in the water element, between the Larganza stream and the Brenta Vecchio.

The crystal-clear water of the Larganza stream flows directly from the springs of Mount Fravort, about 1500 meters above Roncegno Terme, and forms various waterfalls along the golf course.  The Brenta Vecchio instead springs from the lakes of Levico and Caldonazzo. For these reasons and in the midst of such a natural world it is not unlikely to meet birds such as the dipper, the mallard or the grey heron.

Skirting orchards and above all the woods at the bottom of the valley it is easy to be disturbed by the red woodpecker or the green woodpecker, to hear the fluttering of the hoopoe, the water rail and the green reed warbler; higher in the sky, but always fascinating, are the hawks and buzzards.  There are also many mammals that sometimes visit the field such as hares, roe deer and more rarely deer and small foxes.
